Key steps :
Dismantling the door panel and installing the speaker.
Dismantle to gain access to the
screws.
Remove the 4 torx head screws.
Dismantle the door panel (using
the Focal tool provided).
Remove the door panel.
Dismantle the door controls.
Remember to reconnect the
door cable after installation.
Disconnect the connector plugs
(window switches, multiplexer,
outside rear-view mirror…).
Disconnect the original speaker
connector.
Drill out the original rivets
(x4 per woofer).
Use the drill bit provided
with the IFVW Golf 6 kit.
Separate the speaker from its
mounting (using the Focal tool
provided).
Remove the original speaker.
Assemble the Focal speaker
using the rivets provided with
the kit.
Warning: use riveting pliers with
a long enough headpiece to
avoid damaging the speaker.
Reconnect the Focal speaker
(equipped with VW connector).
Put the fasteners in the “unlock”
position before reassembling
the door panel.
Installing the tweeter in the door.
Dismantle the original tweeter
mounting (using the Focal tool
provided).
Remove the two plastic clips
from the original part.
Place the two plastic clips onto
the Focal tweeter mounting.
Remove the rubber washer from
the tweeter mounting.
Place the rubber washer onto
the door frame.
Reassemble the Focal tweeter
mounting.
Reconnect the Focal tweeter
(equipped with VW connector).
