Focal is proud to once again bring its acoustic signature to a DS Automobiles creation: DS 3 CROSSBACK, an SUV equipped with the FOCAL ELECTRA® hi-fi system, for an exhilarating driving experience.


DS Automobiles and Focal continue their collaboration with the same ultimate quest: to push back the boundaries of research and technology, always at the service of the automobile, the purest sound and a unique driving experience.


In 2017, the two major French companies joined forces around DS 7 CROSSBACK , designing a dedicated, high-performance hi-fi system: the FOCAL ELECTRA® System. Today, they have joined forces again for the DS 3 CROSSBACK, a new SUV which they have equipped with this certified system, "tailor-made" for the specific features of its vehicle segment.

ON-BOARD LIVE SOUND

Designed by DS Automobiles and Focal engineers, the FOCAL ELECTRA® hi-fi system seduces driver and passenger(s) from the second the music starts... With 515 Watts of power and 12 loudspeakers ideally distributed throughout the cabin, the system delivers rich, chiseled sound.


Four aluminium inverted dome tweeters guarantee precision and treble detail. The four woofers and three Polyglass midranges offer an excellent compromise between damping and rigidity. Sound definition is perfect, as are the midrange drivers installed in the front doors for precise positioning of the soundstage. To complete the experience, the Power Flower™ subwooferintegrated into the bottom of the trunk offers a powerful magnetic flux, revealing a deep, stable and highly controlled bass register.

DS Automobiles and Focal share strong common values, which define them as much as they call on them to surpass themselves and excel in the art and manner of designing high-performance, differentiating equipment.


In addition to the on-board hi-fi system itself, the vehicle's acoustics have been carefully designed to deliver an exclusive driving experience. A high level of acoustic comfort is guaranteed, while soundproofing has been taken to the extreme with, for example, thicker sheet metal on the doors.
