Yet your audio content deserves to be heard in all its purity, without compromise, regardless of the listening environment. To meet this challenge, we have created ADAPT (Adaptive Acoustic Personal Tuning), an exclusive technology patented by Focal.


The technology is integrated into the Focal & Naim app. It collects and analyses data about your room in order to adjust the audio output of your speaker. In a few guided steps, ADAPT offers a tailor-made sound experience. Each compatible product is finely calibrated to ensure optimised acoustic precision in your environment.

DIFFERENT STAGES

The stages proposed by ADAPT may differ from one product to another, depending on the requirements of our algorithms.

1. Room measurements

Indicating the position of the speakers/all-in-one system in the listening room allows for precise calibration of the products in each unique environment.


  • Distances are added manually on all devices that support the application. Simply take a tape measure and follow the instructions on the application.


  • For iPhone Pro owners (iPhone 12 Pro and above), ADAPT offers augmented reality distance measurement. Simply point your smartphone camera at the measurement points and follow the instructions provided by the app. Manual measurement is still possible.

2. Symmetry of the room

A series of audio tests that allow you to adjust the left and right frequency balance of the speakers according to your listening position. This step ensures that you have a sweet spot at your listening position, placing you at the centre of the audio experience.

3. Tonal balance

Another series of tests focuses on balancing sound levels by frequency, again based on your listening position, for optimal performance at every Hz of your speakers.


This step provides you with a personalised and unrivalled experience, allowing you to enjoy every frequency of your audio content.

COMPATIBILITY


ADAPT technology is available for products compatible with the Naim Pulse Platform in Active Module and Sphere formats.

For Diva Utopia

In less than 10 minutes, achieve the ideal setting for your pair of Diva Utopia speakers, tailored to your room and your listening preferences. ADAPT will digitally adjust the audio parameters to guarantee you the best sound experience.

For Mu-so Hekla

Enter the dimensions of your listening room so that ADAPT can determine the distance between your all-in-one immersive system, the walls, the ceiling and your listening area. Using this data, the technology calculates and adjusts the audio distribution of each speaker to provide customised spatialisation in the sweet spot, regardless of the audio mode selected.
