FOCAL & NAIM SPHERE AUDIO MODES

SPHERE MUSIC

Rediscover your favourite music with warmth, intensity and emotion. This finely tuned mode amplifies bass depth while preserving the natural beauty of mids and highs, faithfully rendering the artist’s intent.

SPHERE MOVIE

For a true “cinema-at-home” sensation, this mode delivers impactful, controlled bass and pinpoint spatial precision. Every effect and layer of sound is carefully positioned, creating a powerful, room-filling soundscape that brings the action to life.

DOLBY AUDIO MODES

DOLBY MUSIC

Optimised for pure musical enjoyment, this mode reveals every nuance with clarity and precision. Each note, voice, and instrument is perfectly placed, creating a natural, balanced soundstage.

DOLBY MOVIE

Designed for cinematic immersion, this mode enhances dynamics and bass for greater impact while maintaining crystal-clear dialogue.

WHICH AUDIO MODE SHOULD BE USED WITH A DOLBY ATMOS CONFIGURATION?

No matter your room setup, there’s an audio mode perfectly suited to your space.

Developed by Focal’s acoustic engineers, Sphere Modes harness the natural reflections of sound waves from your walls and ceiling to create a truly room-filling, immersive experience. Using advanced Beamforming and Crosstalk Cancellation technologies, they precisely direct and balance audio streams for exceptional clarity and spatial accuracy, enveloping up to five listeners within a 120 cm listening zone. These modes are ideal for enclosed, acoustically treated rooms. Refer to the Quick Start Guide for optimal placement recommendations.

Dolby modes do not take the listening environment into account and are not constrained by physical room limitations. They rely on virtualised spatial audio processing (a technology similar to binaural audio) to immerse the listening area, accommodating up to two listeners within a 70 cm listening sweet spot. These audio modes are recommended for large listening rooms or spaces with limited acoustic treatment.

CUSTOMIZATION

Each audio mode can be configured to suit your preferences.

Fine-tune the frequencies using the 5-band EQ available in the settings.
Both Dolby and Sphere modes also feature a Night mode, designed to reduce dynamic range and refine loudness, helping to minimise excessive vibrations, enhance voice clarity and reveal the finest sonic details. This ensures an optimal listening experience at any time of day... or night.
For stereo content, the source can be upmixed (artificial spatialisation of stereo content for a more immersive listening experience).
For immersive listening, it is possible to adjust the width and height of the soundstage, as well as the intensity of the side and rear channels.
