2-WAY BOOKSHELF LOUDSPEAKER
The Chora 806 loudspeaker showcases meticulous manufacturing and design. Let yourself be transported by the delightful, dynamic musical quality emitted by its 61/2” (16.5cm) bass/midrange speaker driver, equipped with the exclusive Focal Slatefiber cone. Alongside the TNF Aluminium/Magnesium tweeter with its silky treble, the “slate” colour of the speaker driver makes it an attractive yet high-performance solution.
Perfectly balanced, this bookshelf speaker is ideal for rooms of up to 215ft² (20m²).
The surround linking the dome to its stand uses a memory foam material called Poron. This surround is directly derived from the Utopia’s famous Beryllium tweeter and reduces distortion by a third between 2,000Hz and 3,000Hz, the ear’s high-sensitivity range. The spatialisation and very low directionality of the inverted dome allow silky trebles to be heard from any point in your listening room.
Slatefiber technology, exclusive to Focal, involves the use of recycled, non-woven carbon fibres applied as a sandwich between two layers of thermoplastic polymer. In their quest for perfection, Focal engineers have opted to use non-woven carbon fibres, all pointing in the same direction to achieve even greater rigidity and better damping.
Manufactured in the Focal workshops using an ultra-modern industrial tool, the “slate” effect of the cone provides better damping and rigidity, but also lightness – the three “essentials” of a good speaker driver.
The Chora range offers a modern design, the slate colour of the Slatefiber cone adding a final refined, authentic touch.
The stand (optional) is tilted for Time Alignment which provides an optimal soundstage, more focused on the listener.
Chora is available in three finishes: Black, Light Wood and Dark Wood. On-trend colours that blend into different interiors and lend them a unique aesthetic signature.
Great entry level hifi speakers
Bang for Buck! You won't find any speakers like these. The Stereo Image is incredible, the treble is very sweet and overall this speaker has tons of clearity while delivering the punch!
I love how this sound I never really notice the difference how music sound on great speakers! Love you guys!!!!
I have had the 806's more than three months now and I was still hearing some audio improvements after 50 hours of burn-in! I have a Marantz 7000 system (Integrated Amplifier, CD player and FM Tuner) and the previous more original expensive speakers that were paired are definitely two or three notches below the 806's in my view. To sum up in one sentence, "I am now finally hearing piano recordings that sound like a real baby grand piano that an accomplished friend plays in her home".
Setting the 806's up was easy and the sound quality can improved further in small increments by, 1. Tweaking the placement of the speakers. 2. Use of good quality isolation feet (not metal cones), and 3. Use of new medium quality cables and connectors (my local audio dealer made these up for me).
Female vocals and guitar are outstanding and engrossing enough to hear new found sounds in my recording collection for the long-term.
These speakers are definitely audiophile quality are excellent value for the price. Thank you Focal.
So far, extremely happy with the Chora 806 speaker. Its musical, balanced, and controlled. I am finding myself hearing details in familiar songs I haven't heard before as well as searching out music I normally might not listen to just to hear it on these speakers. For the money, I don't think I could have done better for a reasonably priced stand mount speaker. If you are considering these, do yourself a favor and budget in the matching stands as well.
Fantastic Bookshelf speakers for the price. The midrange is fantastic and the Soundstage can't be beat. I love these speakers.
I wasn't sure what to expect from an affordable modern monitor. I was looking at other similar level monitors like the KEF Q350 and Dali Oberon. This was the ticket for me. That beryllium tweeter is magical. I am a vintage hifi nut, and this is the first speaker I have bought for many years. I have never liked metal dome tweeters, so when I first heard this inverted tweeter, I knew this was special. In the time I have owned, one of the things I appreciate most is how this tweeter communicates delicate lower volume sounds in music, which adds to the whole experience. I'm a big fan now!
I was surprised how clear, detailed and deep is the sound stage on Chora's when I listen to them at the showroom of my local dealer.
They much perfect with my Naim Atom!
Lovely smooth and open sound.
I was worried as i heard about the bright sound
Of focal loudspeakers but these Choral 806
Have nothing bright about them.
I am yet to hear loudspeaker in this price range
As open and airy.
You close your eyes and it is as if the artist is in
Your living room.
I paired mine with a vista audio spark 2 amplifier.
The finish i chose was the off white front and it is lovely.
It is not white, more off white so i bit if cream to it.
Kinda a little bit like if you smoke and you have white walls.
Incredible sound for an entry level high end speakers. Medium and Highs really sing, soft, defined and natural with character. Low Bass deep and clear , no need for a subwoofer. I placed them 25-30 cms. from the nearest wall in order to avoid excessive Bass. After the break-in period bass are tight and deep, very pleasant and along with the mid and highs, give an excellent balanced and pleasant sound.
Highly recommended.
Beatiful
Just bought these FOCAL CHORA 806, I love their performance , hi and mid sound is crisp and well defined , even though the spec says 89dB they appears to be more efficient…
I've been using these loudspeakers for a couple of weeks, and I'm really happy. It's amazing the amount of detail you can listen from your recordings.
It's worthy to mention that you can get all of these fine details even at low volumes, which is astonishing.
A great pair of speakers. I have chosen them as my first more serious loudspeakers after listening to many in this price range. They are good all round with no serious drawbacks. Treble is detailed and vivid, but not harsh, unlike many other speakers with metal tweeters in this price range. Sound of drums and cymbals is natural and compelling, noticed even by my non-audiophile friend.
Compared this to the Triangle Borea 02 and EZ Titus. The Chora 806 is the best combination of the two. It has almost all of the detail (treble) of the Titus, with the bass/depth and vocals of the Borea. The build quality of the Chora is simply fantastic. The vinyl wrap is not smooth, it has texture, feels very much like real wood veneer. I have the cream coloured front with light oak sides, it's very beautiful, even more so in person. The fact this is built in France, not China, is icing on the cake. Thank you, Focal!
Hello!
After testing several speakers in this price range, the choice fell on the Focal Chora 806.
These speakers have a resolution in the midrenge and especially in the treble that outshines many competitors not only in this price range but also significantly more expensive tripod speakers in my opinion.
Focal Chora 806 also has very wide and deep sound stage.
The bass is fast and distortion free.
Overall, a very good-sounding and good looking speakers in this price range.

Top notch! I really can't believe how great these sound!
I was stunned by how impressive these bookshelf speakers sound when I first played music with them. I had no idea that bookshelf speakers could possibly sound this good at this price point.
These pair of Chora 806 just blew my mind
Excellent range and spatial differentiation should havd taken zhe plunge earlier.
Great sound, i love it.
Speakers sound crystal clear,
well balanced - definitely don't regret buying it.
Good all round speaker both in quality of sound deliver and build.
Super kolumny w tej cenie 5+
Fantastic quality! We were really impressed in Highland Hi Fi when we heard them and the owner was concerned that we were going to be putting them on the floor - retirement house too small for the large Kef speakers that we had. However, he came up with a great solution of Dali cones which not only look great but don't take anything away from the sound and in fact we believe the sound is just as good in our living room as it was in the shop. Really, really pleased.
Had left an earlier review concerning my Chora 806's which I had just purchased but had not hooked up...well I am no audio engineer nor audiophile in a technical sense..know nothing about spatialisation , directionality , impedance , crossover, tweeter etc.....but these speakers are absolutely worth every penny I spent on them and these are inexpensive Focal's as well...from the speaker smashing power of the band Primus to Willie Nelson's Teatro....the 806's handle all the musical nuances clearly and cleanly to my novice ears.....am very happy with my purchase....these are solid well built speakers for entry level Focals that skimp on nothing and do not disappoint.......thanks Focal
Undoubtedly produce the high sound quality with absolute clarity and dynamic. The build is elegant and solid. Super love the new slatefiber cone.
Great Clarity, soft sound matches well with Digital All-in-one AMP(bluesound powernode2i). Thanks guys for the great product.
they will be hooked up by weekend......cannot wait
I'm listening them since yesterday, but they are quite energetic and details
i got these after a lot of searching they are 100% across all types of music thank you very much i love them i am not connected to focal in any way
I have Chora one week only, but I can see that is a good choice. Sound is nice, not so many bass but bass is fast and deep, more medium and high. I must say that sound is well balanced. what is really great, this is stereo scene. Virtual sources are easy to find. For the price very good choice. Final choice was between Aria 906 and new Chora 806, final decision Chora not because of price! But, according to price, for this price quality is great.
Im listening music on Audiolab 8200 CDQ + Audiolab 8300A, wires VanDenHul clearwater
